Amendments to the Transport Act - the 3 most important information - from Fructus Transport

Legal regulations in the transport industry change frequently. These reforms significantly affect the everyday life of professional drivers. This time, our legislator has planned changes to the Road Transport Act for 2022. What are the three most important changes to be introduced?

Exemption from code 95

According to the amendment, other entities are to be released from the obligation to have the code 95 in the driving license. From 2022, these are also to be drivers of vehicles:

- for driving which a category D or D1 license is required and which are driven without passengers by maintenance staff to or from a maintenance center located in the vicinity of the nearest operating base used by the carrier, provided that the vehicle is not driven the main activity of the driver,
- used in rural areas as part of the driver's own business, if the transport is occasional,
- which are used or hired without a driver by an agricultural, horticultural, forestry, farm or fishing enterprise to transport goods as part of their own business.

Professional driver profile

At this time, if a driver who has a category C or category D driving license plans to work as a professional driver, he must undergo

- vocational training or
- periodic training.

Thanks to it, he gains the right to enter the code on the driving license. A visit to the training center is preceded by medical and psychological examinations.

In 2022, the responsibilities of the person planning to become a professional driver will be the need to obtain a professional driver profile. The profile will support the electronic document flow process and help to eliminate paper-based training.

Exam location after qualification

In 2022, state exams for professional drivers will be transferred to Voivodeship Road Traffic Centers.

The question catalog will be expanded to 1,500 classified questions. The exam itself will be conducted using a computer.
